Lice Clinics Utah,Salt Lake City to Match Donations for Free Lice Treatments
A Utah company wants to make sure that the night before Christmas not even a louse will be stirring all through the house. And it is asking others to join in making that a reality for some underprivileged families.
Lice Clinics of America – Salt Lake City (https://www.liceclinicsutah.com/clearfield/) has started a GoFundMe campaign (https://www.gofundme.com/lice-free-christmas-2017) to raise money for free lice treatments this holiday. The company will match all donations raised from the campaign.
All lice treatments will be performed at the Lice Clinics of America clinic at 4873 S. State Street, , in Salt Lake City. The clinic is staffed by certified operators of the AirAllé device, an FDA-cleared medical device invented at the University of Utah that kills head lice and lice eggs using just heated air.
“When we opened the clinic in October, we offered free treatments as part of our grand opening,” said Ken Albrechtsen, co-owner of the clinic. “We stayed busy the whole day treating people. We realized there is a real need not just for our service, but for families who might otherwise not be able to afford treatment. This GoFundMe campaign is just another way for us to continue giving back to the community and help those families.”
The clinic is using social media (https://www.facebook.com/pg/liceclinicsclearfield/) to help get the word out about its lice-free Christmas goal.
“Even if people don’t donate to the campaign, we hope they will help us spread the word by sharing our Facebook post,” said Holly Horrocks, the clinic’s manager. Horrocks has been doing local outreach to identify disadvantaged families that have been struggling with lice infestations.
